Christmas on the Mission Field
The missionaries I know are always
busy,
But at Christmastime - whew, it makes me quite
dizzy!
There are hundreds and hundreds of things to be
done;
There’s no time at all to be lost having fun…
(Dad and Mom)
“The day’s just beginning, and I need a shower.
But the pump doesn’t work, because there’s no
power.
“I still haven’t started my Christmas shopping;
This schedule of mine really keeps me hopping.
“For the kids from the church I need to get
toys,
Dolls for the girls and cars for the boys.
“I can’t find my money, and here comes the maid.
Oh brother! It’s Friday! She needs to be paid.
“Our stove's gas was stolen from under the eaves
So with cookies and tracts let’s go visit the
thieves.
“I forgot! In five minutes we’re having a
meeting.
How can they expect me to live without eating?
“The kids all want me to lend them a hand
In house decorating, but the tree won’t stand.
“The guest room needs cleaning – a group’s
coming soon.
Expense reports have to be finished by noon.
“I need to get copies, and groceries too.
But the car won’t start. Oh, WHAT SHOULD I DO?!!
“Lord, help me remember the reason
We celebrate as we enter this season.
“Help me not to get carried away
With all I have to do today.”
