Samuel Rojas  -  Born September 12, 1969 in Santa Cruz, Bolivia, and has been an intern pastor in Urubamba, Perú for the past year. Samuel was born into a Christian family, and he was saved at the age of 8 in a Bible Club taught by missionaries.

Samuel studied in Bolivia’s public schools through high school. At the age of 16, Samuel attended a Christian youth camp and felt the call to preach. Later he was denied admittance to a local seminary for political reasons. Samuel then attended a public university in Bolivia where he studied Agronomy.

Being a gifted soccer player ( a skill which he uses to reach many young people for Christ), Samuel has played for both a university and semi-professional teams. In one such game, Samuel sustained an injury that made it impossible for him to continue his soccer career. After counsel from his pastor, Samuel began seeking God’s will concerning his earlier call to preach. He met with Mike Casillas from Puerto Rico Baptist College and was invited to attend. After seeing God work through a variety of circumstances, Samuel completed his training at the college and graduated in 2001 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Bible.

Samuel has a variety of ministry experiences; these include a pastoral role in Perú, a pastoral role to Hispanics in a church in Nebraska, a pastoral internship in Puerto Rico, and soccer coaching with the Soccer Federation as well as in a Christian School. Under Baptist Mid-Missions, Samuel and his wife have been serving in Perú while awaiting the door to open for ministry in his native country of Bolivia.

Beth Racke-Rojas  -  Born March 2, 1977 in Nassau, Bahamas, and is presently serving beside her husband in Urubamba, Perú. Beth was saved at the age of 5 and received assurance of her salvation at the age of 12. Growing up in a missionary home had a tremendous impact on Beth’s life as she saw her parents trusting God and experiencing God’s faithfulness in their lives.

Beth was homeschooled through high school and then attended Bob Jones University. In 1999 she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. Among her fellow nursing graduates, Beth was selected as the “Nurse of the Year.” Following graduation, Beth returned to Puerto Rico for two years where she served on the staff of a medical clinic along with helping her parents in their mission work on that island.

Because of her nursing training, Beth has served in general nursing care as well as in an emergency room, an extended care facility, and in a surgical center. Also, having grown up on the mission field, she has had a variety of ministry opportunities. Her ministry opportunities include the role of a pastor’s wife, a well as working with children’s ministries, ladies Bible studies, drama ministries and music. Finally, both Beth and Samuel are fluent in Spanish and have a firsthand understanding of the Latin culture to which the Lord has called them to serve.

Sam and Beth were married on January 4, 2002.  They have 3 children, Bethany Nicole (born on May 25, 2003), Joseph David (born on July 31, 2006) and Jordan Levi (born February 12, 2010).
