| Dear Praying Friends; | May 2012 |
Come praise the Lord with me for:
• 5 married couples in the seminary that have some sort of housing.Getting back home in Perú has been a huge blessing. In many ways I was able to pick up right where I had left off. I didn’t de-acclimate completely and have not felt any effects from the altitude.
• Students having adequate housing at least for this week. (1-4 more guys arriving next week
to study in the seminary.)
• Sarita, age 11, saved in OANSA two weeks ago.
• Lots of progress on the 5 staff apartments.
The OANSA year was up and running. Lydia did great job training the 26 leaders we have. There was 68 and 66 clubbers in attendance the last two nights. Lydia has now expanded OANSA to junior highers. A seminary couple is helping out. The only problem so far being that the highschoolers want to come too.
After one week back it was time to teach a modular course (Study Methods) to the 5 freshmen students. We are enjoying it immensely. We will finish up on Thursday, Lord willing. I think they will all pass. The next module (Visuals & Pedagogy) will be taught by Wendy Campbell and I will translate for her.
On April 23rd we began an English class with 11 students. We are using a web based program from A Beka ESL. It is a very busy schedule for all with 6 class hours a week. It is neat to be able to use my training in kindergarten as well as see the students learning. Because of our seminary’s partnership with Faith Baptist Bible College, one of our 4th year students has the opportunity to travel to Ankeny, Iowa for a semester. Although he will just audit classes, and preach with a translator in various area churches, he will need some language skills to survive. Please pray especially that this student would quickly grasp the language and for all of the ESL students that pride would not creep in because of this privilege of studying English. Please pray also that I will keep up with the busy schedule.
I was unable to join a group of 26 on a jungle trip to Maseca. However, I was able to help outfit them, and send “Gospel Bombs” (a tract in a plastic bottle weighted with 15 marbles) to be thrown from the boat while travelling on the river. Please pray for safety and fruit from this month long adventure.
Sharing God’s Love in Perú,
